| Employers driven to cut commutes with tax credit offer
Teleworking, or working from home, is taking off in Georgia. A key factor in its increasing popularity is Georgia's forward thinking telework tax credit for employers. Last month, the Georgia Department of Revenue announced that 135 employers have been approved to take tax credits in 2008 for creating and expanding telework programs. These credits —- currently capped at $2 million a year —- will provide a tremendous return on the state's investment in the form of increased employee productivity and morale, fewer cars on our traffic-choked roads and less pollutants in our skies. Last week, Rep. Chuck Martin (R-Alpharetta) introduced Georgia House Bill 1244, which would extend the telework tax credit for two more years and raise the cap on the credit to $2.5 million per year.

Clinton's attempts to dislodge Obama from top appear to fall short
I'm a middle-class, hard-working legal secretary, and the low-deceitful attacks she has taken on Obama make me sick. It is the picture of why young people have no inclination to even attempt to be involved in politics. During the last election I boycotted all election ads. If one came on the tv I changed the channel. I didn't care what I changed it to, but I was not going to give my time to those kind of negative attacks. Being President is basically a decision based on popularity. I am embarrassed that our country uses such slime to make one person look better than another. I saw those pictures of Obama a long time ago and I still voted for him because I think he is the better person. We are near creating an English system of law with two families fighting over territory for HOW MANY YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Think about it………and Jeb Bush has yet to run.
Gadgets EA Predicts PS3 to Outsell Xbox 360 in 2008
Crysis fits on one DVD, and it's too uber for the consoles. Crytek says so. Do you know what would happen if Crysis was “optimized" for your PS3 and set to run at 1280x720? Your PS3 would step down from your shelf, walk to the middle of your carpet, squat down, and take a huge, huge dump. I'm afraid the GPU's in today's consoles are simply not ready for those kinds of textures. Maybe the next generation, with GPU's that can push frames with said textures at 1920x1080, will benefit from Blu-ray. This, of course, is after Sony has done all the heavy lifting, taken all the shots while they were down, and Blu-ray drives are 20 bucks.Oh, and if you want more maps, get a hard drive. .

Two forecasts call for flat economy in 2008
The annual roundup of state financial outlooks all indicate Alaska's economy will stagnate in 2008. Forecasts for Anchorage were a bit more encouraging, as were the possibilities for Alaska exports. World Trade Center Alaska held forecast seminars in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau the week of Jan. 21. The Anchorage Economic Development Corp. held a forecast luncheon on Jan. 30 at the Egan Civic and Convention Center. Both forecasts predicted flat growth - signaling a change in the economy - leaving some attendees wondering why they were dropping $35 to $45 for a lunch of rice and chicken to hear bad news. At the World Trade Center luncheon in Anchorage, Commissioner Emil Notti presented a forecast on the state's rural economy, while Northern Economics president Pat Burden gave a statewide economic overview.
Sniper cracks 50-goal mark on way to hat trick: `Everything just went ...
WASHINGTON–Alexander Ovechkin's slump is over. After scoring one goal in his previous eight games, Ovechkin had a hat trick in the Washington's six-goal first period and finished with five points in the Capitals' 10-2 win over the Boston Bruins last night. Ovechkin hadn't scored in seven consecutive games before notching a goal in Saturday's 3-2 loss to Toronto. He broke loose against the Bruins with three goals and two assists to spark Washington, which jumped out to a 6-0 lead on the way to a season-high 10 goals. "Today, everything just went to the net," Ovechkin said. "You are going to score (in) lots of games, and some you (won't). I always tell myself not to think about goals and to just play how I can." Ovechkin's three goals gave him a league-leading 52, matching his career high, and made him the first player in the NHL to reach 50 goals this season.
